What is Study permit?

As an Indian citizens we must have a valid travel document to enter United Kingdom to study in any university or college.This visa is known as Tier 4 (General) Student visa. The earliest you can apply for this visa is 6 months before you start your course in UK.

  • Extend or switch to student visa from inside the UK £475

What International Student can and cannot do?

Students can:
• Study
• Work as a union sabbatical officer
Students cannot:
• Claim public funds benefits and pensions
• Work as a professional sportsperson or sports coach
• Be self-employed
• Study at an academy or local authority funded school.

Choose courses you can study in UK:

• RQF level 3,4 or 5 with at least 15 hours a week of organized daytime study
• RQF level 6,7 or 8 a full time degree level course that’s equivalent to a UK higher education course
• RQF level 7 or above a part time qualification that’s above degree level.
• A recognized foundation programme for postgraduate doctors or dentists.
• Qualification frameworks outside England, Wales and Northern Ireland use different level systems.

Scotland has 12 SCQF Levels. You can compare qualification in Scotland.

What documents is required for UK study permit?

  • Valid Passport
  • CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance)
  • Proof of Financial support
  • Valid ATAS certificate for certain courses
  • Tuberculosis test results
  • A unique covering letter
  • Proof of parents/guardian and relationship to your
    parents/guardian if you’re under 18

 

You may be required to provide biometrics, and you might need to undergo a health examination.

After you’ve submitted your application and provided all required documents, you’ll need to wait for a decision. Processing times can vary based on your home country and other factors.
